The Council for National Security ((タイ語:คณะมนตรีความมั่นคงแห่งชาติ); ) or CNS ((タイ語:คมช.)), formerly known as the Council for Democratic Reform ((タイ語:คณะปฏิรูปการปกครองในระบอบประชาธิปไตยอันมีพระมหากษัตริย์ทรงเป็นประมุข); ) or CDR ((タイ語:คปค.)), was the military junta that governed Thailand after staging a coup d'état against Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra. The council was led by Army Commander General Sonthi Boonyaratglin who acted as the prime minister and the cabinet, until General Surayud Chulanont was appointed as a new prime minister.〔The Bangkok Post, (Developments in the military coup d'etat today ), 20 September 2006〕 Under the CNS-drafted interim constitution, the Council continued to maintain considerable power, particularly over the drafting of a permanent constitution. The council came to an end by operation of section 298, paragraph 2, of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand, Buddhist Era 2550 (2007), which prescribes: "The National Security Council...shall vacate office en masse at the time when the Council of Ministers carrying out the administration of state affairs on the date of promulgation of this Constitution vacate office."〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand, Buddhist Era 2550 (2007) )〕 == Names == The former Thai name of the council, "คณะปฏิรูปการปกครองในระบอบประชาธิปไตยอันมีพระมหากษัตริย์ทรงเป็นประมุข", could literally be translated as the "Council for Reforming the Democratic Regime of Government with the King as Head". This name was translated in several ways by the media, such as: *Administrative Reform Group under the Democratic System with the King as Head of State * Administrative Reform Council (ARC)〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Thailand Democrcy() Watch )〕 * Committee of Political Reformation Under Democracy * Council for Democratic Reform under Constitutional Monarchy * Democratic Reform Council * Political Reform Council * Military Council for Political Reform On 21 September 2006, the council spokesperson asked the local press to report its name in full (with "...under the Constitutional Monarchy"), and noted that "The name is important in relaying a right message and its shortened version might be misleading".〔The Nation, (Call us in full – CDRM )〕 Both before and after this, most news reports used a shorter name. The junta later changed its English name to simply "Council for Democratic Reform" claiming that the change was in order to remove misunderstanding and false interpretation about the role of the monarchy. Actual rationale was debatable.〔The Nation, (CDRM now calls itself as CDR ), 28 September〕 Article 34 of the 2006 Interim Constitution changed the name "Council for Democratic Reform" to "Council for National Security".〔The Nation, (Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand (Interim Edition) of B.E. 2549 ), 2 October 2006〕 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Council for National Security」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
